This picture is of me and my wife Thu, doing what we like best. We are beside the Credit River here, watching birds and trying to spot fish in the different shallow areas.

We both love birdwatching, cooking and gardening. But we aren’t just passive. We love action and martial movies. I studied karate by mail starting in 1974 and much later in life joined a hybrid hapkido club where I earned a brown belt before health made me stop training. My wife has back issues or she would have been a fighter too, although her weigh class is 105lbs. 🙂

My wife is Vietnamese but can cook any kind of ethnic food. For example she makes super spicy Jamacian patties. I cook extremely spicy Asian and Indian food with my best dish being spicy Tawainese Beef Noodle soup.

As of 2025 we have been married for 32 years and when we first married and moved to Niagara Region, we got a lot of looks, especially in the Asian community. It was rare to see a mixed marriage back then in these parts and since I am six foot two and 250lbs, we got a lot of eyeballs on us back then.

I retired from work at age 62 to move from part-time writing into full time. Since I don’t have a work pension, I make my money online. Thanks for reading.
